Abstract
This IDC Government Insights Presentation provides a high-level analysis and discussion of the results of U.S. local government respondents from the 2012 IDC Global Technology and Industry Research Organization. The survey covers many topics, but this presentation focuses on several questions that were asked around emerging technologies in government called the Four Pillars: BI/analytics, mobility, cloud, and social business. These technologies are integral parts of Smart City solutions, and the presentation also discusses the results of responses to smart technology investment.
