Abstract

This IDC Presentation provides an update to vendors regarding IDC Canada's current forecast assumptions relative to the impact of the Government of Canada's (GoC's) Shared Services Canada (SSC) initiative. IDC reviews the short-term impact of current procurement delays within SSC on calendar 2012 IT spending, including hardware, software, and services. The key focus of this presentation though is infrastructure hardware such as servers. The presentation also highlights IDC Canada's overall assumptions and timeline expectations for how the overall shared services initiative will impact the federal government's external IT spending long term.
