Overview
This IDC Government Insights presents the penetration of smart handheld devices among citizens and government employees, which makes a mobile strategy necessary for government agencies in Western Europe.
"Consumerization of devices is translating rapidly into consumerization of applications both for citizen services and internal employees (such as BI and time reporting), which means government IT staff will have to nurture capabilities to make sure solutions are enterprise ready in terms of security, interoperability, and scalability, so that they can be provisioned rapidly rather than trying to build too many of them in-house," said Silvia Piai, research manager, IDC EMEA Government Insights.
