Overview
Budget constraints are limiting the investment in new enterprise solutions in the Western European government sector, and focusing most of the spending on the maintenance of existing applications.
"Software and IT services suppliers that have capabilities to deliver enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise content management (ECM), business intelligence (BI), and unified communications (UC) solutions should focus on refining their maintenance offering to help with efficiency and educating the market on the benefits of alternative service delivery to free up resources for innovation," said Silvia Piai, research manager, IDC EMEA Government Insights.
