Overview
The need to satisfy a wide variety of business requirements continues to drive demand for government industry-specific solutions such as citizen portals, open data, consolidated budgeting, eprocurement, and council meeting management.
"Global ICT suppliers that want to capture a share of the government industry-specific solution market should identify use cases where they can industrialize solution add-ons and implementation templates with the help of local partners. These would include citizen portals that can be based on a combination of CRM and Web content management solutions with specific add-ons, or performance management tools that can be built upon private sector cost and profit analytical and reporting tools and dashboards, but also accommodating government budget appropriation rules and metrics," said Silvia Piai, research manager, IDC EMEA Government Insights.
