Alison Brooks, Ph.D.

As Research Director with IDC Government Insights, Alison Brooks leads IDC Canada's public sector research with the Canadian IT Opportunity: Government practice area.

Ms. Brooks provides valued advice and insight to her clients - both technology vendors and government officials - through her research programs and in consulting engagements. Her understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal I&IT initiatives helps vendor clients position technology offerings as meaningful solutions to current and emerging program and policy priorities. Additionally, she guides government technology officials with best practice assessments and funding strategies, identifying technologies to improve processes and program outcomes.

Prior to joining IDC Government Insights, Ms. Brooks worked with the province of Ontario's Ministry of Government Services, advancing two of the government's I&IT initiatives. Previous to that, while consulting for Capgemini, she collaborated with a major Canadian bank on the design of a customer-focused information technology strategy, including a CRM implementation and has had experience implementing ERP for a leading, global biotechnology company.

Ms. Brooks holds a PhD and MA in Political Science from Queen's University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary, and has a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Science and Engineering Professional Development Centre.
