Mukesh Chulani

Research Manager, IDC Government Insights MEA

Mukesh Chulani is a research manager for the IDC Government Insights program in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. In this role, he is responsible for developing and driving a public sector-dedicated research practice. Leveraging his research among government end users and ICT vendors, Chulani provides insight combined with consulting services that address decision-making strategies, procurement patterns, and ICT trends that impact the region's governments.

Chulani draws on more than 12 years of market research and consulting experience in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career, he has led and participated in engagements with technology vendors, life sciences firms, media companies, and various branches of government in the United States, Canada, and throughout the MEA region. He has helped these organizations better understand and size markets, assess the performance of technology products and services, and develop strategies and programs for operational improvement.

Prior to joining IDC Government Insights, Chulani was a senior analyst in IDC’s Software and IT Services division. He also previously served as market research manager for Corel Corporation, a leading consumer packaged software vendor with an installed base of 100 million users in over 75 countries.

Mukesh Chulani holds a degree in interdisciplinary studies, management, and communication from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines and a postgraduate diploma in application and management of information technology from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
